Walton's Mountain Tourist

We apologize if you are being misinformed by a neighboring business that the
Hamner/Walton Homestead and The Waltons Mountain Country Store is closed due to filming and has nothing to do with The Waltons, these two landmarks have everything to do with The Waltons.

The homestead was closed for a brief time, April 6th. through April 11th. 2014, our store was not.
This was in order to complete a new movie due to come out this summer with Earl Hamner, Scott Hamner, Paul Hamner, Audrey Hamner, Nancy Hamner, Michael McGreevy, the cast of the series and many other important aspects of  Earls life and career, That is why Earl was here with us for that time period.

Any and all questions, concerns or schedule changes are always posted on this website.

Best Wishes from all of us.

Circa 1942
The Walton's Mountain Country Store B and B was known as Walker’s Store
back in thee old days because it was operated by Willie Walker,
the son of Schuyler Walker head of one of the earliest families to settle
in the area who gave it the name of Schuyler.
For many years the store was vacant and seeking escape from that multitude
of brothers and sisters as a teenager I used to hideout there
for the solitude I needed in which to write.
